hey someone posted this on the conservatory forum, does anyone wanna go to this today? crystal?
And now... there is a band, a certain band, who travels near and far through out this very land. Who is this band? This certain band, who brings their Wizard Rock to people 'cross the land? The group is called Harry and the Potters, and they're made up of two brothers, Paul (26) and Joe (18) DeGeorge. The brothers started the group in 2002, and the concept behind it is that one of them is Harry Potter at Year 4 and one is Harry Potter at Year 7. They decided that if Harry Potter were a musician, he would play punk rock, so they dress as Harry Potter from the waist up (cardigan, tie, glasses) and punk rockers from the waist down (jeans, studded belts).
The group takes a very D.I.Y. attitude and releases all their own records, which feature songs based on the Harry Potter books, with titles like "Cornelius Fudge Is An Ass," "Wizard Chess," and "SPEW." Harry and the Potters merchandise (toothbrushes, t-shirts, buttons, and more) is also available. Their second album Voldemort Can't Stop The Rock was recorded last year and released earlier this year. Harry and the Potters tour pretty relentlessly, often playing multiple shows on their tour stops in book stores and libraries, and their energy when performing is incredible bordering on ridiculous. Their minivan will be getting some more miles on it, as the group has several upcoming dates in the southern United States before they travel to Holland for a series of shows there.
11.04.05 - Normon, OK - Moore Public Library, 225 S. Howard. 7pm. FREE! Fri, Nov. 4th, 2005, 01:46 am
okay two things:
one, crystal and i are talking about having a dual birthday party on the week in between ours, so it would probably be saturday the 19th. lazer tag, pizza, and drinking would probably be the plan. does this sound appealing to anyone else?
two, i'm thinking about abandoning this journal for a different one. would that be lj faggy of me or acceptable? i just want to start a new friends only journal, but i might update it more often. dunno. Wed, Nov. 2nd, 2005, 01:40 pm
i borrowed austin's crimethinc book, days of war, nights of love forever ago and read half of it (sorry austin! if you want it back let me know!), because that's what i do with books. i'm a terrible reader. but yeah i picked it up again last night, and the more i go back and read it, the more i agree with what crimethinc has to say. lately, i've found myself believing more and more in anarcho-syndicalism. i've always been partial to socialism and anarchism, so this is really nice. i'd like to do some more reading about this. ( sorry for being serious guys i promise there will be a funny picture and not worksafe at the end of this, you don't have to read what i say )

i think my wisdom teeth are coming in. which double sucks because i am pretty sure the dentist said mine are growing sideways or something crazy like that. and yeah i don't have any insurance, so i don't know what the fuck i'm going to do. i really really really don't want to have to go through this. but on the bright side, i'll probably be getting a fair share of nice pills.

today was fucking great, actually. i need days like these to rejuvinate me. i got off early and dicked around like little kids with steven (btw we have a new band called little kids) and ashley. don't tell mom the babysitter's dead! then we went on a haunted roadtrip. everything happened like a horror movie. old pirate man at the gas station and so on! some creepy ass busted bridge in moore. then to the shawnee/mccloud area, where the highway looked like veins and arteries, with white blood cells racing towards us, and we were floating with the red ones. then a creepy site where a bunch of people were murdered in mccloud. we didn't have a flashlight, so we stayed in the car. then we went to a redneck infested love's and back home. we made like 3 gas station trips and switched cars twice. i ate too much sugar. on the home stretch, there were a half dozen blue sirens. there was a gigantic wreck, shattered glass everywhere. then we went back home to rent the blair witch project and complete the creepy night. but yeah little mini-roadtrips are the most invigorating thing for the spirit. always the most memorable times. hopefully we'll go to the haunted house tomorrow. we might camp on my birthday. i've never been camping before. should be fun.
